Ici et là-bas

Particularly interested in light, shadow, reflection, refraction, recursion, and caustic effects, I chose to use the reflection of the mirror and its opposite double, forming a mise en abyme, based on a mathematical formula, the helicoid, made of glass.

The mise en abyme is an artistic or intellectual process that often leads to a feeling of vertigo, between the material and the immaterial. I'm interested in the physical definition of the work, which is that of a surface generated by a parallelepiped that is repeated n times in space, undergoing simultaneous rotation and translation to form a helical volume. As on a staircase, the steps are superimposed one on top of the other, symbolising the days or years that accumulate or pass, evoking the notion of time.
